Crewe coming
up - and Damian drops into the training ground.
Great result
on Saturday against Forest. I had to be happy with a place on the bench
but it was great to be in the dressing room after. Early on Forest looked
good and had a couple of chances, and I was quite worried about their
front two but we took control of the game in the second half after Kelvin
pulled off another wonder save. He's saved us more than once this season.
Great
to see Coops settling in so well too and it was a great finish for the
second goal. He's a real down to earth guy and deserves opportunity's
for all the work he puts in.
Disappointing
day yesterday with Preston getting another three points but they have
a tough last three games so they are still catchable as are Birmingham
and West Brom- but I feel we need ten points at least, it can be done!
Saw
Port Vale lift the LDV trophy as well and was pleased for them as I still
know plenty of the lads there.
Looking forward
to Tuesday's game now with Crewe, we need to be at our very best with
no Trond or Kenny. The gaffer isn't giving anything away so I don't know
what the team will be but hopefully I'll be involved again in some capacity.
There's a few options for him, maybe moving Jason into midfield or Neal
or Hughesy could figure somewhere. If it's Neal then hopefully I'll get
a run on the wing. Then there's Kenny to replace- Chris Willmott or Rob
Gier must be the favourites, both are similar- Chris with more height,
Rob with more pace.
Training
today was an eight a side game, Neal Ardley picked a whack up when he
challenged Paul Heald in goal but I think he'll be okay. The pitches aren't
too bad over at the Bank of England I just hope Selhurst doesn't get any
worse.
Saw Damian
Francis at the training ground today getting some treatment and he was
positive after his operation. He's got quite a bit of movement back after
the op and hopefully he will get back as soon as possible. On the injury
front we won't see Blackers and Kjetil till pre-season and Damian and
Andreas Lund a bit later.
Crewe got
safe on Saturday so that could be a good thing they might relax enough
so we have an easy win- any win will do though.
Cheers Gareth.
