Return
of the Wild Thing.
Lots to catch
up on this month- I think my last update was about a month ago and there's
been a few changes since then.
We hopefully
have come through our dodgy spell started by the team having a good result
up at Stockport. Although the players report that the game was 'a bit
messy' with no real passing going on they are the games we must win to
start climbing the table. Coops was a slight worry with back problems
but came through fine and notched against his former club which he was
pleased to score but he didn't like the fact that it put his former club
in more trouble at the foot of the table. DC hit another which takes him
to 12 league goals this season I think. The only injury worry today recently
was Hakan Mild who has a slight pull on his hamstring.
As you all will have heard by now the first team coach Stewart Robson
is no longer with the club, I've had a few questions on the subject and
don't really want to comment too much on what happened, the press will
try and make big issues out of everything so don't read too much into
things you see in the papers.
The lads also had a meeting last week to dicuss what we can do to help
the whole club out of this rough patch and team spirit was a big issue.
We all agreed the togetherness had gone from the club and we are now making
the whole place a joy to be at again. It might even need a couple of old
'Crazy Gang' pranks to get things going.
I've also been asked about Trond lately and he has been struggling with
his groin for a couple of weeks, he had to pull out of the squad for Coventry
as a precaution but has been training for a while now, I guess TB didn't
want to risk him at Stockport and he only made the bench for the Forest
game.
Elsewhere
on the injury front, Alan Kimble is now running and looking stronger everyday,
the next step for him will be leg strengthening. Dean Blackwell has had
a slight setback but nothing to do with the ankle injury thats kept him
out for almost a year, just a slight pain around his shin just below his
knee, after a scan hes been told just to rest it for a couple of weeks
and he'll be fine to carry on with some running. Kjetil is hoping to make
a comeback in the new year after his nightmare he's looking really strong
in the gym and I think he'd give Juppy a run for his money as the fittest
guy at the club. Andreas Lund however is struggling to come back from
his latest knee op though but I'll keep you posted on this.
As you may have read, Willo's had some more bad luck and has broken his
leg again. Same bone but a different place. The physio's sent the X-rays
to Stoke-on-Trent where, apparently, the best guy in the country for this
kind of injury is. He's said he'll be out for 6 weeks but doesn't think
its as bad as the last one. Willo also played two games for the club with
his last broken leg and thinks that put him back further so's he's not
going back till this new break is totally healed.
As for myself, great news! I resumed trained yesterday and got through
it all, a full day. The reserves played the first team in a practice match
and I was on the right flank for the Ressies. My ankle isnt 100% yet but
the physio's say I might have to go through some discomfort for a couple
of months but it won't get any worse. Fingers crossed. I'd love to get
back for the Christmas program but I think just after is more realistic.
On the music side of things, Myself and Trond really enjoyed playing at
the lads Xmas Do next week. The band have been rehearsing like mad lately
- we really went down well and I enjoyed it big time. I'll release the
playlist in my next entry.
Gareth.
