Jam session
& then McDonalds.
Thursday
after the Sheffield game and feeling pretty positive about our chances.
Got some
stick on Tuesday night though, but I wasn't happy with the Sheffield press
bringing it up in the local paper before the game. For those people who
don't know, when I was at Port Vale I was involved in a tackle with Sheffield
Utd midfielder Dane Whitehouse which unfortunately led to the early end
of his career due to knee ligament problems. Those
who know me will know I went in 100% as usual but never meant to hurt
anyone -I never would. Myself and Dane were in contact after the incident
and I wish him all the best, but I still get loads of stick from the Sheffield
Utd crowd.
On the game
side of things it was a great result for us, keeps us right in the pack
and it was great to see Andy Roberts score. He's been playing well lately
in midfield and lets Trond, who was our man of the match I think, get
forward more often.
I played
down the middle which isn't totally foreign to me but I do prefer the
wing where I can run at people more. It was good experience for me though
and I just enjoy playing no matter where it is. I thought Wayne Gray looked
very sharp when he came on and think he's a great prospect for us, he
was unlucky not to score. The closest they came to scoring was hitting
the post and that wouldn't have beaten Kelvin if it wasn't for the divot
that it hit on the way. Good to get another clean sheet though.
Yesterday
was our day off and myself, Trond and David Nielsen got together for a
bit of a jamming session, those two on guitars and me singing. It was
really good and David's good on the guitar. It'd be great to do a gig
sometime, maybe next season though, no time to prepare at the moment,
premiership is the priority.
Training
today was just a warm down with plenty of stretching with Jon Goodman.
He's had a very positive effect at the club and we do things very professionally
now. Games of two touch to finish which is keeping the ball up with two
touches each, drop it 3 times and your out. Trond's usually top man at
this but Andy R and Darren Holloway were the best today. Darren just sneaking
it I think.
Massive game
to look forward to on Saturday and Jason and Hughsie did some light training
today so maybe the squad will change a bit. I've been looking at the league
table and think we really have to win 4 out of 5, to give ourselves a
good chance, and I reckon we can do it.
Been to McDonalds
this afternoon but don't worry my diet hasn't gone out the window it was
to meet some of the young fans involved with football in the community.
It was a good afternoon and hopefully we will see some more youngsters
at the game Saturday
Let's do
the Forest!!
Cheers Gareth
