2001 The signing of David Nielsen has been a great boost to the squad. His English is excellent so he has had no trouble holding his own in dressing room banter! In training you can see he's got great spring in his jumps, two good feet and has good vision up front which is handy for me when I cut inside on surging forward runs. I've also heard he's a keen golfer and plays off a handicap of 6, but in his first outing with the lads he was beaten by the bandit of the club Andy Roberts, whose handicap surely must come down soon! I'll enjoy seeing David fit into the team and hope to form a good understanding with him on the pitch. Sprint tests today in training over a distance of 10 yards, with the most up to date equipment going. I was second fastest with a time of 1.68, Wayne Gray was the quickest with 1.67 (how close can you get, I'll do him next time and get my fastest at the club crown back). I think the next time was about 1.73 from David Nielsen, and there was a certain Paul Heald surprisingly in the top 6.
