The only
way is up.
Wimbledon
and QPR eh! I think not.
I don't think
either set of supporters would be up for that one and the mood in the
dressing room is that the players would prefer to keep our own identity.
There's been a few stories cropping up over the last few years and I won't
believe any until they actually happen. I think we have found a site on
the moon for our new ground though.
I had loads
of phone calls from the press yesterday and today (Friday)- the training
ground had a few media people there but I honestly know as much as you
because we rarely get to know much behind the scenes, leaving us to concentrate
on footy. I still think we'll have our own place one day and QPR need
us more than we need them, and as for taking the lower clubs status and
becoming a 2nd division club well, no thanks. The only way we want to
go is up.
Two days
off after the game were gladly taken by the majority of the boys and we
all trained at the Bank today. 30 metre sprint tests today and guess what
...I tied with Wayne at a time of 4.01 the only thing is it was a tie
for second place cause Wu-Tang
blew everyone away with a time of 3.88 wow. I'm getting old. Only kidding.
It does show interesting things though, over 10 metres Wayne is the fastest
only just beating me and Patrick was about 8th but over 30 metres Pat
is the man to beat. 20 metres could be my distance (grinning to myself)
but I'm 27 and those two are 21 so I'm not doing bad. I'll beat them one
day believe me!!
Training
with the balls consisted of possession for 30 minutes then finished with
some shooting and a warm down, quite enjoyable really with the lads in
high spirits. I think Kelvin has a slight pull on his thigh and he didn't
train, hope he is alright to play on Sunday just for the fact that he
could start every match season a record to be proud of.
More TV work
for me this afternoon and I went to Picadilly Circus to be a guest on
a show for a new channel that's just launched. It was a good laugh and
I enjoy doing it whereas most of the lads shy away from that kind of thing.
You only live once eh!
The band
is also going well and we are getting the songs prepared for the gig we
are planning in July, so keep your eyes posted for dates.
Norwich at
home Sunday, always nice to finish at home and hopefully we'll get a decent
gate to leave everyone feeling on a high for next season when we'll "rip
it up". I want to finish with a win and who knows maybe just one more
goal eh! (I just love that music coming on). See you all Sunday.
Gareth.
