03 January 2002 - Rick Laws asks:
I don't really listen to rumours, but word is going around
The Lincoln fans is that if the imps paid you enough dosh you would come back tomorrow, would you?

"My time at Lincoln was great I enjoyed every single minute and it showed on the pitch. You never know what’s going to happen in football so I cant rule out anywhere, be great to score a few more goals down at Sincil Bank.
"

05 March 2002 - Dave asks:
Does Charles Koppell make threats if you show any support to all Dons fans about moving back to Plough Lane?
For example I heard Andy Roberts showed support to us and despite his good form he was dropped and then sent on loan to Norwich City. I look forward to the day when you run out in the Wimbledon blue at the new Plough Lane in front of 18,000 in the Premiership.

"Thanks for the support. The chairman hasn’t said anything about any moves to the players, we have to concentrate on playing our best for the club, and if the Andy Roberts story is true I haven't heard it! It'd be great to run out at Plough lane in front of 18,000 mad Dons fans.
"

05 March 2002 -Janet asks:
Hi there Gareth, I spoke to Kiddo (Ryan Kidd) about you at the last players do at Preston North End and he mentioned your injury problems. To be honest I can’t really monitor your progress and injuries as much as I’d like to being from Preston but I was wondering do you regard yourself as being lucky when you see other professionals and good mates retire from the game like 'mighty' Ryan Kidd?

"Really good question Janet. The real answer is I have been really lucky full stop, there are a lot of people worse off than me injury wise and I feel for them because injuries are a complete nightmare as a footballer. As for Ryan, we were really close when we were at PNE together and I know he will be strong enough to come through all of this. He is a real nice guy and a great friend to have.
"

05 March 2002 - Richard Hill asks:
You should be first choice right winger - no doubt about that - in the match with Palace we had Jobi and Darlo coming on and playing in your position then we hear conflicting reports that you are injured/not injured, this along with all the rest of the goings on suggest to me the club is in absolute turmoil, would it not be better for you to play somewhere else where football is no.1 priority?

"I'm disappointed that I wasn’t given my chance against Palace, especially when Jobi went up front, even Jermaine was surprised to go on, on the right wing but you have to go by the managers decision. I don't want to leave the club and I'm gonna fight all the way to June for my place. If I have to go then hopefully someone is getting a real good player for nothing."

05 March 2002 -Tony Oakley asks:
I have just read on Onevalefan that there is a chance that you may be released by the Dons; I know my beloved Port Vale are not the most wealthy club, but the fans would welcome you back with open arms! Any chance?
Thanks for the memories.

"I've had loads of mail from Vale and Lincoln fans asking me whether I would consider coming back, the answer is of course I would, footballers always have a habit of turning up at old clubs for a second spell so watch this space.
p.s. my memories from Vale park are great to so I thank the fans for those.
"

05 March 2002 - Richard asks :
Hi Gareth, simple question - why have none of the players publically critisised the whole Milton Keynes idea?

"In my opinion the players have stayed away from any public statements because the press could make a mountain out of anything. It's best to stay quiet and we honestly don't really discuss it in the dressing room.
"

05 March 2002 - Neil Tomas Bluett esq asks :
You must get this a lot- but I am a huge fan of yours. Anyway my question is do you now regret not signing a contract for us last season when you had the opportunity to looking ahead as you will be let go? I'm ashamed to ask this really because it does sadden me but I would like to know your reasons for not signing up.

"Hi Neil, I'm glad you’ve asked because I can clear this up, I was never offered a new contract during my whole time at Wimbledon. There were rumours I was going to be asked when I hit good form last year and even I thought I may have done enough to warrant a new deal but unfortunately I was never offered anything. If I had been offered then I would have stayed without a doubt.
"

25 September 2001 -Nick e 'Port Vale forever' asks :
Gareth, it has recently been reported that you have not been offered a new contract, if these rumours are true I suggest that you give a certain Mr Brian Horton a call, as I believe that I speak for most vale fans in saying
that we would love to see you galloping down the wing again. I am sure that Mr Bell wouldn’t mind dipping into his pocket. It was worth paying the gate fees just to see you play.

"Thanks for the supportive comments, I'm not ruling anywhere out, I really enjoyed it at Vale and its not all about money. I still have friends there so it’s an option definitely. I'm gonna work very hard here at Wimbledon right up to the end of my contract and see what happens then.
